Fengtang Sun is the Founder, Chairman, and Chief Breeding Scientist of Atlas Seed Group, and Chairman of Shandong Lushou Seed Co., Ltd. Born into a family with a long tradition in vegetable breeding, he represents the third generation of his family dedicated to plant breeding and seed innovation.

As a Senior Agronomist with more than 20 years of experience in modern vegetable breeding, Sun has devoted his career to the research, development, and commercialization of innovative vegetable varieties designed to improve agricultural productivity, sustainability, crop resilience, and food quality.

Throughout his career, Sun has led breeding programs covering tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, melons, leafy vegetables, brassicas, beans, onions, and specialty Asian vegetables. His expertise spans germplasm resource development, conventional and molecular breeding, disease resistance, quality improvement, variety development, and commercial application.

Under his leadership, Atlas Seed Group has established an integrated innovation platform combining germplasm conservation, breeding research, seed production, seedling development, quality management, and global marketing. Today, the company maintains more than 21,000 germplasm resources, has successfully commercialized over 500 vegetable varieties, operates with an annual seedling production capacity exceeding 3.2 billion plants, and serves growers and business partners in more than 40 countries.
